Been oop t'Moor for the first time for weeks ............. Still some pockets of snow lying on the higher ground.

If they lie for long enough they will become glaciers!

Osmotherly to Robins Hood bay ...if memory serves ...and we did it in just over 2 days .

If my memory serves....it was supposed to be completed from dawn to dusk the same day. Obviously not in the weather you've described......or with 'refreshment' stops :):)

You are Correct m8 ..
That is indeed how it should be done ...but we knew full well it would require at least one night in the tents ..under those somewhat testing conditions ..
Plus my mates brother brought his girlfriend along ...
..no disrespect to the fairer s_x ...but she did slow us down a bit ;)

Just a dusting - but on top of ice.

Also got dense fog.

Temperature not likely to exceed 4C all week.

Totally cheesed off with this now. Not the very worst conditions I can recall (1962 and 1981 had truly nasty episodes) but certainly the most prolonged and dreary.

Well I must be benefitting from the gulf stream, cold but a very sunny dry day after a hard frosty night.

Been a horrid day here 'en France'. Strong winds and a persistent steady rain. I've picked up some sort of tummy bug (almost wrote virus but that would have set people scanning my posting) but still had to go out for tiles, cement and plumbing bits. Some blue s-ky around now, though I'm feeling distinctly 'dessu les temps'. (If the French have a saying like that)

Open the wine - I did after the only job of the day.

A light dusting of snow around the Watford area, but nearer home, it hasn't really stopped raining for some 15 solid hours, and the road from Staines to Hampton was looking rather flooded, with a few cars by the side.

I think the wine might be kill or cure!! So, I'd prefer not to risk it. I'll have an early night and catch up on missed sleep from early this morning.

No white stuff here however and it's stopped raining. I agree with Tivù though, this relentless Winter is getting beyond a joke. A friend who has stayed here in the past and travels around all the time rang yesterday to say that, apart from wanting to visit Iceland this summer he will probably be going to Portugal to help renovate a house. Seems a better option than staying here right now. We both belong to this organisation as helper and host respectively _www.helpx.net

Nothing here, some rain but none of that white stuff. In fact it's been quite mild today. Sorry :D:D

Having heard of conditions in the UK via Radio 2, I trust everyone is ok. Rain and strong winds again here, weather isn't fair enough to allow Bob to mix cement for the kitchen floor but I hear drilling, hammering and swearing coming from the bathroom, so work is continuing.......
