My 1mtr dish is on the side of a flat roof, the pictures below should give you an idea how the dish tilts, the dish is pointing at 56E atm.

Now the dish is at 61.5W

OK. Have just completed a dry-run and I think it's going to miss the shed roof (if not I'll just have to set limits on my box at the time). I'll be able to raise the pole by about 4-5 inches from the bottom with the help of an old paving stone and a single block-pave brick but I think that's all I can do with that. I removed the bracket from the dish and have set that to the right angle (my latitude 54.687) which is 22.4/22.3 on the dish scale. My dish will be more or less facing south for Thor so I should get an equal swing both directions....he said confidently.

What have I got myself into here? LOL! I just hope and pray that when all is set up that it all works. This is a whole new adventure into satellite TV. Oh, God, what have I done! :)

Im following this with bated breath - I started with a 60cm Sky analogue dish off the side of my parents house and mounted it on an old car tyre in the back garden! It had to be set up every time I wanted to have a play and the cable was fed through the letterbox! :-rofl2

Im not laughing at your efforts Tony - I was remembering at my wonky first efforts - every time the wind got up the bloody thing blew over! :-rofl2. (Although it worked fine for many analogue transmissions :) )

Now I just bang second hand fencepost into the ground and bolt dishes to them.

Not quite as ramshackle as long as I remember to bolt everything up properly..... :D

The first ever time I set my 1mtr up, it took me around 5 hrs from start to finish, I had only set a sky dish up before that :-),

pop to maplins and get your t and k and get on with it :-) lol,

I have a decent heavy-duty 12 inch stand off TK ordered. Hey Analoguesat! I'll bet your place resembles Goonhilly Downs. Went there in 1995.:D

From what I've seen, it's more Oil Drum Lane than Goonhilly Downs! :-rofl2

Lol nah its not too bad.

Just a bit unconventional - most people motorise - I went down the multi dish route :)
