Keep an eye on the CBBC HD and BBC3 HD - placeholders appeared on Freeview this morning. Please can someone confirm PIDs and SID when there is any video and audio on 27 west? Thanks.

The Freeview placeholders could explain why they appeared on this backup feed too. I doubt you'll see any audio/video as I don't think there is enough free space. I suspect these placeholders will be similar to existing ones on that transponder like the BBC Red Button HD which has no audio or video.

The Freeview channels are 73 for CBBC HD and 105 for BBC3 HD. Both display a message saying "Coming soon, new HD channels from the BBC"

Hi

I read this thread throughly and some other threads too, but didn't find answer to my question.
I have TBS5925 with DVB Viewer as main program, I scanned 27,5W BBC transponder, got channels to list, then did some necessary tricks, but - no picture or sound :(
Using AltDVB or ProgDVB had no problems, channels appeared instantly, but these softwares have couple of other disadvantages.

So, have anyone got picture and sound with DVB Viewer? Im afraid that DVB Viewer has the same problem like Enigma based Linux STB-s, when PMT is crypted.

And I found only one screenshot of DVB Viewer showing these channels at the beginning of this thread, that seems to be one and only, nothing more elsewhere.

Thanks
Best Regards

Hi guys,
one question : i've noticed that with Vu+ it is possible to choose subtitles when PMT was not scrambled, but on CT5000 (with F16 software) at the moment it is not possible to choose any subtitles.
Is that normal or do I have to change something in the settings ?

Can you not export the channel list from AltDVB or ProgDVB as an ini?

Thank You for answering. Im afraid that .ini is not an option, since each software keeps channel file in its own type, example DVB Viewer has .dat and DVB Dream has .chl file. Both software support channel list editing through menu options up to PID level. Only AltDVB has separate .bch channel files for each satellite, also to PID level. I can't check ProgDVB at the moment.

I found another interesting thread from DVB Viewer's homepage. This says (from post number 10) that problem is misinterpretation of CAID due to encrypted PMT. That is true as plugin's window stays empty. Developers don't give any hopes because this kind of viewing is illegal and DVB Viewer acting as described before is correct.

As it indeed in gray area, I just want to know, is there a solution at all and watching BBC Satback transponder these days with DVB Viewer is or isn't possible?

As seen here on snapshot http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/...-intelsat-907-27-5w.152899/page-5#post-789279, it should be possible, but I followed this instruction without any success.

Confirmed not working. Probably is a key change.
Let's see how long this time.

Mid July was the last one, maybe they are doing it every 3 months now. :(

I was expecting it a bit closer to Christmas like last year. I guess with so many people constantly talking about this on many forums it's only going to get more frequent and/or more secure.

I remember the last time the new key was published on the interweb almost immediately whereas the previous time it took a team of hackers around six weeks to find it using PC cards. There was speculation that last time someone leaked the key IIRR.

I did wonder how it was 'found' so quickly last time. I hadn't heard the 'leak' rumour but does make sense.

I have been given an old TM 500 super. Does anyone know whether this will work at this high symbol rate? I have been told that some technomates do. If it doesn't then it is not worth while taking it out to Portugal.

According to the specs on the TM site its only DVB, so wont work.

The problem appears to be the lack of a good .ts file. The PMT's are scrambled which is making it almost impossible to grab apparently. Even PC cards seem to be struggling- I guess the BBC boffins are laughing right up their sleeves at us all!

Couldn't have said it better. No TS no keys. I'd personally invest in the equipment but there's no need for me as I'm still in the UK.

Is this any good? Someone from another forum recorded this, I believe it is the whole transponder rather than a single channel.

Advice, suggestions welcome. :)

Same as everything about fringe sat. reception, the more it`s talked about the more the powers that be take measures to cutoff/restrict that gap.

Same happened with fringe reception maps of astra 2F uk spot beam!

Rubbish - its common policy to back the power off a little once the satellite is commissioned and its been in operation a few months. Turning the power down puts a little less stress on the components.

Most folk dont notice as they are well within the main service areas.

The same will almost certainly happen with 2E.

A few enthusiasts maps from folks with big antennas will make not a jot of difference in the long run.
