Actually if you had read my post correctly I said my 'current settings'. The default install settings were the same as yours and they did not work. Which is why have moved on since that. Your config file (the default) nor my config file work therefore there is still an unresolved problem...
Hi all,
This is really doing my head in. First off I have searched everywhere for a solution but getting nowhere - the forum, the idiots guide and google.
I am running XP Pro SP2 on the same network as my DM800. I have no firewalls in place and I have no problems whatsoever with passwords etc...
Can't really fault the box. It does everything that I expected it to.
I do wonder though - which genius designed a system capable of handling high definition 1080 video streams yet only fitted it with a 10/100 ethernet port?
Actually common satellite dishes are in the shape of a circular paraboloid. Which most certainly isn't what is produced by cutting a section from a sphere.
Only waves origininating at the center of the sphere would all be reflected to the same point. Pretty useless for focussing parallel waves...
Based on instructions found in the idiots guide etc I think I now have evrything up and running.
Is there any way to know if the cam is working correctly without actually decoding an encrypted channel?
The only thing I ever see at the bottom right of the screen is "Common Interface". My mate...
Time I got back to this thread. People seem to be missing the point I was asking.
It was just an idle curiosity type question. It doesn't really matter to be honest. Thanks anyways guys. I was just wondering why images can't be pre-loaded onto sticks on a device other than a dreambox. In...
Problem resolved. It's a bandwidth issue. USB stick transfer isn't fast enough. Neither is the 10/100 built in ethernet. I monitored my network with respect to the ethernet and the mpeg data tries to peak at over 1MB/s - fine for standard def though.
Just stuck an esata in it. Worked a treat...
Thats what I'm guessing. It's actually a Sandisk Cruzer 8GB memory stick which is also holding the latest Gemini image. It was prepared by the auto Barry Allen install. I assume that also initialises it. Otherwise I have no idea how/when it was formatted cos I've had it a while now.
Later...
Thanks compufunk. That did the trick. Well it's allowed me to record. Good old telnet.
Unfortunately I just can't playback the files. Not sure if it's an issue with dropped frames or not. Basically I set the recording off and it records to the stick. I hit the video menu and select the file...
Well my 800 arrived and I've managed to flash it with Nabilosat Black Hole and Barry Allan 4. Everything is running hunky dory and my 8GB USB stick is all up and running too. Very impressed so far.
Not decided on the harddrive yet so was just pondering on trying to record to the USB. Seem...
Had a dig around but can't seem to find the question asked before.
Why can't a USB stick be formatted on a PC and a flash image installed/copied to it and then it simply plugged into the 800?
I appreciate there is a file system difference but just wondered if it's plausible and if somebody has...
One of the beauties of working from home is you can take a break when you want. :-)
Seems the culprit is the 32V line. It's down to 26.6V with no load.
The 12V line is also a bit suss - it's at 11.2V with no load. The rest are bang on.
Not sure what the tolerance is on that 12V line but for...
