Yes, probably need to fine-tune the dish. Thanks.

6925 doesn't have two LNB in ports. It is a single tuner card, the second port is loop through...

And the 6984 doesn't support blindscan.

Ah well, it was a nice idea while it lasted.

Llew I believe the peak is somewhat low. Even for normal SR's could be proven difficult to lock.

Found a low SR on Astra 23.5 -

A radio channel on 12660V SR 477 FEC 1/2.

Audio loud and clear. So the card version I have is OK with these low ones.

Nice one! :-righton

Unfortunately Astra 3A is unreachable to me, so I can't test this frequency.

I can't reach this one either. Its good to know the v2 cards are capable of SR this low.

Must be about 1 pixel wide on the spectrum even when you zoom in. If you put a TV channel on there it wouldn't even be Youtube quality.

..My TBS6925 landed at Heathrow 7pm this morning ....so hopefully should be delivered very soon now..
;)

..If by some chance it's delivered tomorrow ...that would make it exactly 1 week from ordering to delivery.

Mine came the next day after landing early morning at Heathrow VS - that was after going through two of DHL's depots between Heathrow and being signed for here. Pretty speedy. Don't know if they deliver weekends though.

Hi friends ..
My 6925 has arrived ..
and am currently in the process of installing it..
I've physically fitted the card ..and installed the drivers ..
Then went down the list and installed everything on it ..
TBS viewer
DVBdream
TBSIPdata
TBSBlindscan
& TBSViewer

So ..
The first program I ran up was DVBDream..and was about to configure for my setup ?

Is the TBS6925 compliant ? ..I was under the impression it was ..
IE
Can it drive usals motorised dishes diseqc 1.3 ?
Can it at least access my diseqc 1.1 .....8 port switch ?

Only simple diseqc 1.0 or 2.0 appears available ?
in other words ...just 4 possible switched inputs ..
Surely not ...
Thats stoneage stuff ..

Any help welcome

Well I only use DVBViewer VS, but there's a later version of DVBDream (i.e v15g) available in the Downloads section of tbsdtv.com - bottom of the list. Haven't tried it myself, but ISTR reading that it has USALS option. Many of the apps that come with the DVD supplied are ancient, and have been updated in the Downloads section, for instance TBS recorder.

...Did some digging in my PC Llew ..
Found my old dvbviewer key and customer access ..
Tried to login using them in order to download the latest version of dvbviewer ..
It was no longer valid ..
All changed since I used to download ...but they emailed me a new 'keyfile' as it now is ..
they no longer use a text 'copy n paste key'
Downloaded the latest dvbviewer pro ...and applied the keyfile ..
All up and running ..so..
Next question is the same one(s) again ..
Does dvbviewer now support usals ?
..and can I use it with an 8 way switch now ?

If so ..how..
presumably the 'extended' diseqc feature ..but unsure how to use it ?
can you help ...
I'll go grab the newer tbs software later..
I just want to get up and running first.

I use DVB Dream and the software supports USALs, Diseqc etc for a motor. Options, positioner but it's disabled by default. Not entirely sure whether it supports your card though, their website shows some models but not the 6925, mind you, it doesn't show the 7301 I use but it is supported so maybe the page is out of date? Try using the BDA driver or get the latest driver from the TPS site? There's a thread on one of their forums that might be relevant... HERE.

I just zapped the DVBDream that came with the DVD and downloaded the 'revised' version from tbsdvb. It still shows it as v1.5e, but does have USALS as an option. I don't use USALS anyway, as I drive my dish using my Echostar, so I won't be able to help if you still have problems.

Oh heck, yes I just checked DVBViewer Pro, just says 'extended'. What about 'angular? Is that just for your site coordinstes?

USALS option is enabled in the patched DVBDream I referred to with the TPS 6925 aceb. Maybe VS could try it and report back.

DVBViewer Pro does indeed support USALS (called "angular pos." in the program) and Diseqc 1.2. Extended is a sequence of different diseqc modes. You will find more information about it here: _http://www.dvbviewer.com/griga/TransEdit%20E/DiSEqC.html Anyway, even the latest version 4.8.1 of DVBViewer Pro does not support USALS or Diseqc 1.2 with the TBS 6925. As far as I can tell, only DVBDream 1.5f (or the TBS version) and AltDVB 2.2 (with the latest BDA2 device by CrazyCat) works fine with the card + motor.

Yep ..
Been pulling my hair out for the last hour or so ..
No way can I get movement from either of my usals motors with the Dvb dream 15G OEM ..
Or indeed dvbviewer pro (latest) ..
I'm assuming its down to a driver issue ?

The bda I've installed is the one on the supplied driver disk for win XP...driver version 1.0.1.4

according to settings in device manager..

I can see my frustration turning to some anger if I can't get some momentum forward on this ...
I'd hate to think I'm going to have to hang the card on the loopthrough from a satellite receiver to control the various dishes I have..but its beginning to look that way..

I'm using the full version of DVBDream 1.5f with Diseqc 1.2 commands (not USALS) without any problem (Windows 7, 64bit). I'm not sure what's the difference between this version and the TBS (OEM?) one...

..Ok ..
Going to start from scratch ...
I intend to use my Openbox to move the dish and select the relevant diseqc position on the switch ...allowing the 6925 to access its loopthrough ..
Obviosly this will limit the 6925 to either vertical Hi Lo ...or Horizontal Hi Lo ...whatever is selected on the Obenbox S9HD
..A sad way to approach this but at least it will get me a start..

I intend to use DvbViever pro with NO motors or switches ...so effectively spoonfeeding the 6925 ..

I have no doubt this will at least scan a few transponders ..but that relies on the database in bvbviewer being up to date ..which it _never_ is ..
So ...next question ..
How do I implement a blind scan on the 9625 to avoid the out of date transponder list ....and import the aquired result of the blind scan into dvbviewers database..??

I intend to try Hispasat at 30West as my spoonfeed test ..

Since I'm totally unfamilliar with this pci card ...and its facillities ..who can walk me through it...

Any Takers ?
