Are those prices inclusive of VAT @ 20% or exclusive of VAT?
What is a back plate, I thought they had a circular mounting ring on them?

That 2.4m looks cheap enough if the price includes VAT.
One point about the 2.4m antenna, they use a different size rear mounting ring to the one used on the 1.2m to 2.2m range.

No vat was mentioned Dave, he said someone called Dave called the other day I thought it would have been you,
what ever points are different will make no difference to me, I will be starting from scratch to make a new mount.

I got a quote from Elite for a 1.8m dish back in July and it was £890 excluding VAT, that was the last time I spoke to Julian some 4 months ago. The project that the dish was to be used for was subsequently cancelled so the order did not materialise.

I assume the quote of £672 that you got for a 1.8m antenna was for the version without the rear radial bracing arms, that's the only reason I can think of to account for the difference in price, unless you talked him into a discount, or they have reduced their prices.

You have the bug now Martin. Them offset focus dishes will never look the same again now you are in the world of the Precision/Elite prime focus antenna. These are Carlsberg dishes but these guys actually do make them.

PFs are definitely sexier. Once my house is rebuilt (!), I'll give the PF 1.8m CM a go... just for comparison.

Carlsberg dish?

Probably the best dishes in the world.
It is the theme of the Carlsberg lager advert on UK TV. "If Carlsberg made satellite dishes......."

I see. (Or rather, I don't see enough UK TV these days!)
But then it is rather appropriate for comparing with certain brand dishes...
Overpriced, run-of the mill, bog-standard dishes sold as high-performance stuff.
Carlsberg is just mass-oriented lager here in DK. Not the cheapest, but nothing to get excited about. Still drinkable, but pales in comparison to the real, high-quality stuff.
A bit like Heineken a few years back: "Reassuringly expensive". And in the Netherlands - just standard lager...

I'd take a London Pride or a proper IPA any day.
